Mental Health Advocate: Manager Qualification

Equip managers with the skills and confidence to take ownership of the mental health culture within their workplace and to appropriately support the wellbeing of their reports.

Being a manager in today's workplace involves more than just technical skills. It requires the soft skills to take care of your team's wellbeing and address their mental health needs.

Our Manager Qualification is designed to empower and equip your leaders with the skills and knowledge to tangibly improve mental health within their workplace.

This course aims to help managers identify colleagues who may be going through a difficult time and provides a clear framework for initiating conversations around mental health, as well as the tools and understanding to create a supportive environment that fosters positive mental health.

The factors that influence our mental health
The link between stress and mental illness

SPOTTING THE SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF MENTAL ILL HEALTH

What are some of the common symptoms of poor mental health?
Looking out for physical symptoms, behavioural symptoms and signs in someone’s work

UNDERSTANDING STRESS & RECOGNISING BURNOUT

Understanding stress & pressure
Preventing work-related burnout
Identifying the key stressors in your workplace

MENTAL HEALTH ILLNESSES IN DETAIL

Understanding the symptoms of the most commonly-diagnosed mental illnesses
Understanding neurological conditions

 

SESSION 2 (4-HOURS)

SUPPORTING OTHERS WITH MENTAL HEALTH ILLNESS

Breaking down the stigma around mental illness
Starting the conversation; a framework for having effective discussions around mental health
Supporting a colleague who is experiencing thoughts of suicide
Ongoing support for a colleague who is experiencing poor mental health

SUPPORTING NEURODIVERGENT COLLEAGUES AT WORK

Understanding neurodiversity

SESSION 3 (4-HOURS)

Delivery

Our Mental Health Advocate: Managers Qualification training is interactive and involves a combination of presentation, group discussion, group exercises, and individual activities.

Training includes a digital handbook for each attendee and a certificate on completion of the course.

 

FACE TO FACE DELIVERY

This is a 16-hour course (split over 2-days)*, delivered live, in your workplace by one of our experienced facilitators.
Breaks are built into this course.

Available for groups of up to 16

 

VIRTUAL DELIVERY

This is a 16-hour course (split over 4x 4 hour sessions)*, delivered live, by one of our experienced facilitators via video-conference.
Breaks are built into this course.

Available for groups of up to 16
